A community campaign is aiming to keep open the Antwerp Arms pub (near Bruce Castle). They are holding a meeting this Monday which is being supported by CAMRA. It will also be attended by local Tottenham brewers, Redemption.
Some local residents may not be aware the council is conducting a consultation until this Thursday on the special rules that allow roof extensions in the Gladesmore area of South Tottenham.
A letter was supposedly sent out by the council but many (yours truly for instance) did not receive it.
You can read the latest plans online, or offer your views on whether the current rules are having a positive or detrimental effect on the character of local streets.
The documentation and are short questionnaire are available on the council’s website under south tottenham house extensions.
Be quick though: all responses need to be received by 5pm on Thursday 28 February.
UPDATE: Haringey Council have refused this plan as the land is “Ecological Valuable ” and the development would be “out of character”. Well done to those who monitored this so closely, and thanks again to SoTo blog for sharing the news! Now the space has been saved, it begs the question could it be put to better use as wild green space for the community?
